Literacy Lessons

My remedial literacy teaching is focused on meeting the needs of learners, while recognising strengths and building self-esteem.  My structured literacy teaching  is multisensory, phonics and science-based, and based on the SPELD programme.

Moving Forward Structured Literacy programme covers:

  • Phonics      
  • Spelling                                           
  • Reading     
  • Writing      
  • Comprehension

Sessions are 1 hour  in a 1 -1 personalised, flexible and fun programme with  interactive lessons tailored to individual student learning profiles.

Literacy Assessment and Report

Assessments are completed over 2 hours,  providing detailed information on students strengths and weaknesses. I examine students’ assessment data to create a detailed report, identifying  their learning needs and learning plans. This report can also be shared with the school or classroom teacher. 

The assessment covers:

  • Auditory, visual and verbal memory
  • Phonic reading skills     
  • Phonological processing
  • Reading age   
  • Spelling age
